Marathi films capable of giving competition to Bollywood: Raveena Tandon

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Oct, 2016 12:09 PM
Actress Raveena Tandon says the Marathi film industry is doing better than Hindi films in terms of business.

"I feel proud to see the high point where the Marathi film industry has reached. The kind of business Marathi films are doing is not only capable of giving competition to Bollywood, but is much more than that of a Hindi film. I think this is fantastic," Raveena said.

The actress lauded the regional film industry at the music launch of Marathi film "Bhay".

"Bhay" is directed by Rahul Bhatankar and stars Abhijeet Khandkekar, Smita Gondkar, Satish Rajwade, Vineet Sharma Sanskruti Balgude, Siddharth Bodke and Uday Tikeka.

The story revolves around a person who migrates from the small and peaceful town of Pune to Mumbai with the hope for a better life. It puts the spotlight on his experiences in Mumbai.

Talking about the film, the actress said: "I loved the music of the film. The film is made with a lot of hard work, trust and enthusiasm and it can be seen."
