  • Mangeshkar Family Inspires Bhansali
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, also a composer, has said the Mangeshkar family including melody queen Lata Mangeshkar inspires him.

He was conferred with the Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award on Sunday. At the award ceremony, Bhansali revealed that the Mangeshkar family is a huge inspiration.

"My mother is much happier today as I am receiving this award. She knows how much the Mangeshkar family inspires me. Until today, I have not spent a single day without listening to Lata didi, Asha ji or Usha ji and Hridaynath Mangeshkar's compositions," Bhansali said at the awards ceremony here.

"I have learnt about the timing, expressions and dynamics from Mangeshkar's songs. Moreover, they made me realize to work in that way so it makes imprints in everybody's heart forever," added the "Bajirao Mastani" director.

The Mangeshkar clan organises this award in honour of the Late Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar to recognise artists who have created great impact in their respective fields.

Along with the director, actor Ranveer Singh and veteran actor Jeetendra were also honoured.
