Kriti Sanon 'Hanging Out' With A Giraffe On Cosmo Cover Receives Backlash; See Pic

Darpan News Desk IANS, 10 Aug, 2018 01:20 PM
Cosmopolitan India has stirred a controversy by posting a photo of the 'new cover girl' for its August issue, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon.

In the picture, posted by the magazine's official Instagram account, the 'Raabta' star can be seen in a black high-neck top paired with silver glossy trousers and black stilettos, striking a pose with a giraffe that appears to be suspended in the air.

"I'm not someone who gets angry easily, but when I read about atrocities against women, it really upsets me.' Meet our cover girl @kritisanon being her candid self in our August issue," the caption read.

Social media users, however, gave the post a thumbs down, calling it distasteful for its animal-offensive content.
A user commented, "Are people performing this shoot blind? What is happening to this world? So disrespectful to animals @peta @petaindia we need to get rid of this issue"

Another said, "Such a shame! You guys are so shameless. Talking about atrocities while portraying animal cruelty in the name of fashion.”

Highlighting the hypocrisy of the post, another user commented, "What the f*** is she talking about atrocities on women when she is posing next to a hanging girrafe ?! Real or fake, its bloody cruelty to even post such pictures. @kritisanon shame on you for even agreeing to pose next to this"

"Guys it doesn't matter if it's fake or real. The entire picture is just wrong. If a women dummy was hanging with a male model posing..will that be justified? No," read another comment.

Demanding an Apology from Kriti, another user said, "You should take this post down. And delete that picture. And like apologize to every f*****g giraffe. Actually the entire animal kingdom. You want to make a point of subjugation with more subjugation. Ridiculous!"

In March this year, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor was also clicked at the same location, with the same prop, a picture of which was shared on the location, Aynhoe Park's Instagram page.

In the still, Sonam can be seen posing in front of the same giraffe in a red Ralph & Russo ensemble.
