Karan Johar is 'Married to Both Films and Television'

  • Karan Johar is 'Married to Both Films and Television'
Filmmaker Karan Johar said that he enjoys doing television as well as films and for him the success and failure in both fields matter a lot.

Karan is a judge on reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and India's Got Talent. He is also known for hosting celebrity chat show Koffee with Karan.

"Every Thursday TRP rating comes and I call the team to check if it is up or down and why it is like that. I look at it (television) as I look at my films. When I am part of anything I want it to do well. I want to make sure it works," Karan told.

The 44-year-old director gives equal importance to both films and television.

"I don't look at television as mistress in my life. Television is my spouse and it will always be one of my spouses like films. I am married to two mediums, film and television," he added.

The filmmaker feels disheartened if the TRP of the shows that he is part of is down.

"I take it personally...if TRP falls down I feel it's because of me and if it goes up then I take credit for it. It's everything in my head. I am glad to be on television," said Karan.

Presently Karan is busy judging celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Ganesh Hegde.
