Kapil Sharma-Ginni Chatrath Wedding: First Rituals Begin, Akhand Path Held At Bride's Home. See Pics

IANS, 05 Dec, 2018 12:42 AM

After the high-profile weddings of Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, it is now the turn of Indian TV’s favourite comedian, Kapil Sharma, to tie the knot. He is all set to marry his long-time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar on December 12.

A week ahead of the celebrations, the first of the wedding rituals have already commenced in the Chatrath household. An Akhand Path (continuous recitation of sacred texts from Sikhism) was held at Ginni’s residence on Monday, pictures of which are now online. Ginni can be seen wearing a heavily embroidered sharara with a kurta. She has teamed it up with an off white dupatta.

"The ritual was held at Ginni's Jalandhar residence to mark an auspicious beginning of the ceremonies that will be held in the forthcoming days," a source told Mumbai Mirror, adding that the choora ceremony took place yesterday.

Pictures of Ginni from the choora ceremony have been curated by a fan club on Instagram. Take a look.

Kapil, who is currently busy with his upcoming show in Mumbai, is expected to fly to Jalandhar soon. A jagran is scheduled for December 10, in which singer Richa Sharma and Master Saleem will perform, Mumbai Mirror reports.

Kapil Sharma shared a glimpse of their wedding invite on social media some weeks ago. "With great joy in our hearts and blessings of our parents, it gives us immense pleasure to announce that Ginni and I will embark on new journey of love, respect and togetherness," read an excerpt from the wedding invite.
