Singer Kanika Kapoor, who is prepping to showcase her vocal prowess at the second edition of the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) here, says she will be paying a tribute to her native Uttar Pradesh state at the event.
"I am doing a tribute for Uttar Pradesh because I belong to Lucknow," Kanika told IANS here.
The songstress will be seen crooning some old numbers like "Chalte chalte", "Paan khaaye saiyan humaro" to peppy numbers like "Baby doll" at the event, which will take place at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai Sports City on Friday.
The event will see some popular names Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan taking to the stage.
The 37-year-old singer, who crooned hits like "Chittiya kalaiya ve" and "Nachan farrate" in 2015, says she "hopes to get hits this year".
"This year, there is a lot of (my) music coming out," she added.
Kapoor has collaborated with many artistes like Ikka Singh, Mika Singh and Meet Bros in her previous works.
Asked if she wishes to collaborated with rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, Kapoor said: "Well let's see what happens. We are thinking of doing something. We have not announced anything so there is no point talking about it."
The singer says her upcoming Bollywood song will be featured in the film "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" titled "Akhiyaan".
The song will be featured on actors Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal.
