Kangana Ranaut Offered 85-Year-Old's Role In Shekhar Kapur's Film

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Nov, 2015 12:00 PM
Versatile actress Kangana Ranaut, known for her power-packed performances in films like "Queen" and "Tanu Weds Manu" series, says she has been offered to play an 85-year-old woman in a Shekhar Kapur film.

She spoke of it at the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival here during a discussion.

"I have been offered (to play) an 85-year-old woman. She is a mother. We are still in talks... The role is very challenging for me," Kangana said here.

However, Kangana did not confirm if the role that she has been approached for is in Kapur's most ambitious project "Paani".

The actress was present at the "Woman in Films" session at the ongoing film gala here with Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan, Kiran Rao and "Selma" director Ava Devunary.

Talking about the subject, Kangana said: "There is a pressure from the film industry and the society that an actress should look of certain age all the time. We as women should accept ourselves the way we are. We actresses should stand for ourselves."
