Kalki Koechlin's 'pizza date' in capital

Darpan News Desk IANS, 08 Jun, 2016 12:57 PM
Actress Kalki Koechlin experimented with her pizza-making skills at the launch of a new PizzaExpress restaurant here on Wednesday.

Present at the launch of the restaurant at food place Epicuria at Nehru Place in south Delhi here, Kalki told IANS: "We have a lot of junk food kind of pizzas and fast food kind of pizzas out there. But very few places have authentic pizzas.

"In Italy, you can taste each and every ingredient. Be it the tomatoes, cheese or the basil, you can taste all of it. Here, we taste the cheese and sauce, and you really don't know what all is there in your pizza."

Kalki, who is half French, shared that she was taught how to make pizza from scratch by her mother.

"I do know how to make pizza. My mother used to teach me... She would make pizzas from scratch. Earlier, back in the day, you didn't get lasagne here (in India), so she used to make the lasagne strips, dry them out in the sun. She is a pro. I know how to make it, but not (don't make it) much now," the 32-year-old said.
