'Jhalak..' learning process for me: Remo

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 29 May, 2014 12:34 PM
  • 'Jhalak..' learning process for me: Remo
Choreographer-director Remo D' Souza, who is back on the judge's panel of the seventh season of celebrity dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", says the reason he chose to judge the show is that it's a learning experience for him.

" 'Jhalak...' is a learning process for me as a technician. I get to learn a lot from the choreographers who showcase their talent on the dance floor," Remo told IANS.

Alongside Remo, the show will be co-judged by filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Madhuri Dixit.

The contestants range from actors Kritika Kamra, Mouni Roy, Purab Kohli, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Pooja Banerjee and Ashish Sharma to VJ Andy, professional dancer Shakti Mohan, singer Sukhwinder Singh, comedian Kiku Sharda as Palak and cricketer S. Sreesanth.

The 42-year-old has high expectations from the forthcoming show which will go on air June 7, and he will play a tougher role this time.

"As always my expectations are high. I want to see something new every season. I have a lot of expectations from all the celebrities who are participating in the dance show as all of them are good dancers. This season, each of the contestant knows how to dance," said Remo.

"Shakti, Sophie, Sreesanth and especially young boy Akshat, who has a good taste in pure Bollywood dancing styles, are all good dancers. And this time, I'll be tougher and uncompromising towards judging."

Talking about the professional dancers in "Jhalak...", like Lauren Gottileb in the last season and Shakti, who won the title of "Dance India Dance", in the forthcoming, Remo said that the show attempts to inspire the contestants to perform better.

" 'Jhalak...' ropes in professional dancers, so that the level of competition is all geared up and that all the contestants feel the heat of the competition, get motivated and prove themselves," he said.
