It's Script Over Medium For Sushant Singh Rajput

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Mar, 2015 03:49 PM
  • It's Script Over Medium For Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput found the way to Bollywood after finding fame through his television shows. The actor says that though he is subjected to remarks that he has “graduated from TV to films”, it is the script that excites him over the medium.

“The thing that will lure me back to the small screen is script. People ask me 'Whether I will do TV or not' or say 'You have graduated from TV to films', but I don’t see it in that way. Medium doesn’t excite me,” Sushant told IANS during an interview here.

The actor made a mark with his role as the male lead's brother in TV show “Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil”, and went on to grab the lead role in the serial “Pavitra Rishta”. The show changed his life in many ways as he found recognition and his lady love Ankita Lokhande.

The actor made his debut on the silver screen with “Kai Po Che!” and followed up with “Shuddh Desi Romance”. He was last seen in Aamir Khan-starrer “PK”.

Talking about the mediums, he added: “If I am or anybody else is an honest actor, then he will forget who is watching (the film or show). So if you are not aware of the TV camera, movie camera or live audience, then it doesn’t matter."

The 29-year-old actor, who is now gearing up for period drama "Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!", also notes that the process of enacting a character stays the same, irrespective of the medium.

“I started my career in acting with theatre. I have done nukad nataks (street plays), college plays, professional theatre, TV and then films.

“What I feel now after eight years of acting is that the process remains the same. The way I approach my character, the way I process my emotions and the way I express my emotions is the same,” he said.

Meanwhile, the actor will also be seen in the title role in Neeraj Pandey's "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story".
