It Was Rare For Actresses To Workout Earlier: Shilpa Shetty

Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Dec, 2015 03:10 PM
  • It Was Rare For Actresses To Workout Earlier: Shilpa Shetty
Actress and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra, known for her fit frame, says actresses weren't too much into working out when she had joined the glamour industry.

"Nowadays everybody is fit, but when I joined the industry, it was rare to see actresses who were into working out. At that time, they wanted that you should be a bit 'hari bhari' (fuller), (and they used to say), 'What is this? You are looking so lean like a toothpick'.

"So I've had producers who wanted me to put on weight," Shilpa said here.

The question to Shilpa was prompted by the weight loss of actress Parineeti Chopra.

Shilpa said she's happy for the "Ishaqzaade" actress, and said: "Today, we've reached a time when people are aware of how to be fit and there are so many ways you can be fit. So it's most important to bring awareness to the fact that whether you have time to do any kind of fitness regime, you can improve your health with a good diet."

Having launched her book "The Great Indian Diet", Shilpa also said it's wise to manage stress well.

"It's all about perspective when it comes to stress. There are some people who stress about not having stress. My life's mantra has been that the worst things and the best things, both are going to pass and that's how life is going to be. So you have to be who you are with a positive approach, and gratitude that you have good health," added the actress.
