I Enjoy Intense Films: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 22 Dec, 2015 11:07 AM
After her power-packed role in "Jazbaa", actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has started shooting for "Sarbjit", in which she sports a de-glam avatar. She says she enjoys "intense" roles.

"Work on 'Sarbjit' has begun and we have just started filming. It is an intense film and as an actor, I obviously enjoy that," Aishwarya said at the red carpet of an awards event here.

The film, helmed by Omung Kumar, is a biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death. He was attacked by inmates at a prison in Lahore in April 2013 and died a few days later.

Aishwarya plays his sister Dalbir Kaur in the movie. She's glad that her look in the movie is being appreciated.

"The picture (of the look) already came out, and I am very thankful for the response that lot of people have messaged me, encouraging the choice of subject," said the 42-year-old.
