  • I Am Super Proud Of 'Veere Di Wedding': Ekta Kapoor

Producer Ekta Kapoor, who is backing the Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Veere Di Wedding', says she is super proud to be a part of the film, which she feels will be remembered for a long time.

"Ok the time has come to say this! 'Veere Di Wedding is about to release and it's important to say this before the release. Outcomes define our memories! Film does well we remember it fondly... Don't we conveniently erase the memory or call it a mistake," Ekta tweeted on Wednesday.

Ekta further stated that the outcome of a film "can't always define the experience" that artists go through. She feels "super proud" to be a part of 'Veere Di Wedding'.

She further added: "A generation will remember a film came that told us with absolute irreverence that it's ok to be! Be divorced, be unmarried, be overweight, be undersexed, be oversexed! Just be!"

In reply to Ekta, Sonam's father and actor Anil Kapoor tweeted: "Well said Ekta Kapoor! The Veeres will break all stereotypes and show everyone how empowering it is to just... be! #VeereDiWedding." Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film is slated for a release on June 1.
