I Am My Children's 'Best Friend', Says SRK

IANS, 29 Jan, 2016 12:58 PM
  • I Am My Children's 'Best Friend', Says SRK
His professional commitments leave him very little time for his family, but Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said he likes to spend most of this with his three children -- Aryan, Suhana and AbRam -- and terms him their "best friend".

"I spend a lot of my time with my kids. I'm so friendly with them. I really love kids. I like entertaining them," Shah Rukh said at the announcement of edutainment theme park KidZania Delhi NCR here on Friday.

"I think the experience that I have had - like I work for almost 10 to 12 hours a day - but after that I don't do anything. I just stay with my kids.

"Just two days ago, I went to London to spend an extended weekend with Aryan and Suhana as they had off. But I know I'm their best friend. They can speak their minds to me. I live with them like a friend. I have built a confidence in them that they can tell me everything. So I feel I'm 60 percent good as a father," the "Chennai Express" star added.

Asked about any quality of his children that he would like to adopt, Shah Rukh said: “Most of the time, I'm surrounded by kids and I have kids in all shapes and sizes. One thing that I'm finding in them is that they are very straight forward and honest.”

He also admitted that he had a lot of naughty habits during his childhood days.

"I don't know whether kids do it today, but please don't ban me on saying this. When we used to live in flats, two bad things that I used to do was firstly ring the other person's bell and run away,” he said.

"The second thing we used to do was explode people's letter-boxes by keeping crackers in it. I remember, we used to live on third floor and there used to be a girl on fourth floor, whom everybody used to like. So once I exploded her letter-box as well.

“After that her mother complained to my father. Than he told her that if I would have seen you earlier then I would have exploded your letter-box. But that was a big stupidity of mine,” he added.

On film front, Shah Rukh will next be seen in “Fan” and “Raees”.

SRK AVOIDS THE 'INTOLERANCE'

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose views on "extreme intolerance" in the country had led to a controversy last year, avoided queries about the subject at an event here on Friday.

The actor was here to make a formal announcement regarding edutainment theme park KidZania here when he was asked whether he feels that his 'intolerance' remark made people conscious in the society.

Shah Rukh responded: “I feel there is a specific platform for everything. Here we are talking about kids, so it would be good to talk about this on a platform where it is being discussed."

Earlier, the "Happy New Year" star had said: “I do think there is intolerance. There is extreme intolerance.”

His views were then criticised by many politicians and the film fraternity.

Apart from Shah Rukh, superstar Aamir Khan also said during an event last year that there is “growing despondency” in India.

On the film front, Shah Rukh, who was last seen on the silver screen in “Dilwale”, has films like “Fan” and “Raees” slated for release this year.
