After Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir, in an interview with AIB, also slammed the filmmaker Anurag Basu for dragging the movie for three years.
Speaking on the AIB podcast released online last week, Ranbir described Anurag’s style of working and said, “There is no AD system, no script, no schedule. He will cancel a 40-day shoot on the third day. Like when Barfi started, I was supposed to be intense and serious. He then wanted to make it fun and then all the Chaplin stuff came.”
“Barfi was successful, so we forgive that process (of delaying). If Jagga Jasoos doesn’t work, I don’t think this process can be forgiven because it is irresponsible. For other people’s money, time and other things,” he added.

In an interview to Mid Day, Rishi Kapoor had said, “You may be the biggest director in the world, but nobody would like to work with you because you are irresponsible. There is somebody else’s money involved in this. I trusted you, and this is what you give us? Ranbir hasn’t held back on spending money on it. You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place?”
Jagga Jasoos released on 14 July. It has so far made Rs 45 crore and its budget is about Rs 110 crore.
