'Himesh Reshammiya understands economics, business of films'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 Mar, 2016 11:54 AM
  • 'Himesh Reshammiya understands economics, business of films'
Shawn Arranha, who has directed Himesh Reshammiya in "Teraa Surroor", says the actor-composer understands the economics of the film industry very well.

"He knows the business really well. I learnt so much from him. As a producer, he knows every detail of film making," Arranha told IANS.

"Himesh is not a lavish producer... He understands the economics of the film industry, and that is very good. He is very clear that this is the budget and we have to make sure the film is made in that tight budget, so that tomorrow it gets easier for us to recover the money."

Talking about Himesh's acting, the director said: "As far as his acting is concerned, he is a very dedicated actor. He shed his weight to get into the skin of the character for 'Teraa Surroor".

Farah Karimi, Naseeruddin Shah, Shekhar Kapur and Kabir Bedi are among the other actors in the film.

Asked how Himesh came on board for the film, he said: "Himesh wanted to have a director who can put this film in the right budget and make it look stylish. He somehow came upon me, we sat and discussed the story so we really met on a good ground and our thoughts matched."
