Have Peaceful Dialogue: Randeep Hooda Urges Jat Agitators

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Feb, 2016 01:11 PM
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, who belongs to the Jat community, has urged Jat people agitating for job quota in Haryana to refrain from using violent measures and to seek a way out of the problem in a peaceful manner.

Randeep traces back his roots to Haryana city Rohtak, which has been most hit by the whole unrest. He shared his views over the issue in his native tongue Haryanvi via a series of tweets on Saturday.

He shared: "Ram Ram...What's the use of setting fire to your own house? Only dialogue can resolve this matter. Brothers please stop this destruction. #JatProtest #JatReservation".

The 39-year-old star added: "There is no need to go crazy. Only dialogue can bring about a solution to this problem. Don’t politicise the issue. Keep calm and maintain peace. The whole country has taken note of your problem. Now stop all this destruction. Move ahead and present all your demands in a peaceful manner.”

The agitation began as Jats demanded reservation for the community in government jobs and educational institutions.

From the markets of Rohtak, Jhajjar or Bhiwani, hooligans who have joined the ranks of Jat demonstrators have run amok by setting government and private property on fire, burning buses and private vehicles, blocking roads and highways, disrupting trains and uprooting tracks and indulging in looting and arson, according to reports from across Haryana.
