  • Happy with Supreme Court ban on Jallikattu: Hema Malini
Actress-politician Hema Malini says she is “happy” with the decision made by the Supreme Court of India to stay the bull taming sport Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.

“I've voiced my views on Jallikattu and supported its ban. Was upset to hear that it was to be allowed. Today with the Supreme Court ban, I'm happy,” Hema posted on Twitter on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court put a bar on Jallikattu on Tuesday citing cruelty to animals. The event figures prominently during Pongal festivities in Tamil Nadu that start on Thursday.
