Actor Govinda reached Rishikesh on Thursday and offered prayers at the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple of Lord Shiva.
 
He also did 'jalabhishek' on the deity and prayed for peace and prosperity for his family and everyone, sources present at the temple informed.
 
He interacted with the main priest Subhash Puri and took information on the temple and its history. The actor was mobbed by other devotees there and his personal security had a tough time getting him to his vehicle.
 
The 54-year-old, however, obliged his fans by posing for pictures with them and allowing them selfies. 
 
The actor is in the hill state for the past few days and drove to Rishikesh and Haridwar on Thursday after spending a few days in the state capital.
 
Sources said he would be spending a few more days in Uttarakhand.
