Actress Kajal Aggarwal, who juggles between the southern and Hindi film industries, says content-driven films with no big stars need more publicity to gain visibility among the audience.
 
She also says that without good publicity, audiences do not come into theatres, and that affects the box office collections.
 
Kajal, who shared screen space with Ajay Devgn in "Singham" and with Akshay Kumar in "Special 26", was appreciated for her performance in her last Bollywood release "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani". However, the film did not do well at the box office.
 
Talking about the correlation between a good story and box office success, Kajal told IANS: "I think for a comparatively small film with good theme but without big names of Bollywood, needs more publicity to be noticed."
 
"In a big country like India where so many films are releasing every Friday, many good films get unnoticed. Perhaps that is why though people appreciated my performance, but it didn't translate at the box office."
 
Having started her career in 2004 with the Bollywood film "Kyun! Ho Gaya Na...", Kajal acted in various Tamil and Telugu films and shared screen space with popular actors like Ram Charan and Prabhas among others. 
 
The actress bagged Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut Hindi for "Singham", South Indian International Movie Award for Best Actress (Critics) - Tamil for "Thuppakki" and received four nominations in Filmfare Awards South.
 
Sharing her experience in the regional film industry and if it is different from Bollywood, Kajal said: "It feels more like the Indian film industry than just a regional one. There are many technicians, choreographers and actors constantly working in south and Hindi film industry."
 
Kajal said, "Much collaboration is happening. So, no point of differentiating between regional and Hindi film industry. In addition, the projection of women is changing in Telugu film industry like the way it is happening Hindi cinema."
 
"The style of storytelling is becoming quite contemporary in south as well. So overall, it is a good phase for both the industries," she added.
 
Currently the actress is busy shooting for the Telugu film "Nene Raju Nene Mantri" with Rana Daggubati.
