Actors Swara Bhaskar, Vir Das, Vivek Oberoi, Kalki Koechlin and Govind Namdev have featured in a video to make an appeal to the citizens of India to gift masks to the traffic policemen who are victims of extreme air pollution.
 
The video made by channel Hawa Badlo running on YouTube shows the celebrities explaining how the policemen suffer from the chronic pollution and that the "time to act is now".
 
In the video, the celebrities ask in unison: "While we keep on cursing the traffic policemen when they fine us for not wearing helmet, using mobile phones while driving or jumping the signal, can we stop for a moment and admit that the fault lies with us only? As we hate to admit this, we blame them for what?"
 
Vivek, who was last seen in "Krrish 3", said that one must have respect for the traffic police, who are exposed to "all kinds of pollution". 
 
"I think nobody cares about traffic police. Instead, many curse them. They have zero respect for them. All kinds of pollution goes to their lungs, which is approximately about 40-50 packets of cigarettes per day. But can you imagine what he (a policeman) is putting himself through?" Vivek said in a statement.
 
"(Showing) no respect for them is a very bad attitude for a society to have," he added.
