Actress Swara Bhaskar, who walked for jewellery designer Akassh K Aggarwal's show themed on "Changing Phase Of Feminism" on the final day of the India Runway Week (IRW) here, feels feminism is not just restricted to women as it is a fight for both men and women to be free from gender identities.
"The show's theme is changing feminism, which is very relevant in today's time. I have always beleived that feminism is the fight for both and women both to be free from the pressure of their gender identity," Swara told IANS.
"Any self-expression is only possible if you are conformable being who you are. There are so many pressures on Indian women that the real you or the real I is lost, so I think in that sense, this show is very relevant," she added.
Swara donned one of the pieces from designer's Spring Summer range titled 'Tribe Vibe Collection'. The line resonates with the symbolism of old tribal art of peroi and jadau fine techniques in filigree motif.
An assortment of multiple accessories options gives the collection a versatility to be worn on ethnic as well with Indo-Western.
The designer said he was delighted to have Swara as show stopper.
