Favourable Time For Actresses To Grow In Bollywood: Manisha Koirala

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 Jun, 2017 11:45 PM
  • Favourable Time For Actresses To Grow In Bollywood: Manisha Koirala

Actress Manisha Koirala, who is making her comeback with her forthcoming film 'Dear Maya' thinks it is a great time for actresses to grow in Bollywood.

While talking press, Manisha said, "Even the subjects which are being chosen nowadays are the best which one could ever expect."

Manisha, who was in the national capital to promote her upcoming flick, 'Dear Maya,' believes that now the makers need to change their vision regarding this.

The 'Bombay' actress, who herself fought ovarian cancer thinks, "The makers need to change their vision regarding this."

Today, however, cancer is much more amenable to treatment but when it comes to Bollywood, the story of cancer over the last few decades still remains the same.

Be it 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Rockstar', 'Katti Batti' or 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', the film's plot always ends with one of the actors dying due to this severe disease.

Bollywood filmmakers generally are quick to showcase the changing trends in the Indian society and culture but when it comes to dealing with cancer, they fail to do justice and portray negative image of the disease, showing disrespect to the cancer survivors.

The film 'Dear Maya', which is helmed by debutante Sunaina Bhatnagar, is slated for release on June 2.(ANI)
