VANCOUVER — The owner of a record store in downtown Vancouver is thrilled following an unexpected visit from superstar Elton John.
David Jones of Vinyl Records says he was impressed by John's comfort navigating around a record shop when the renowned composer stopped by Thursday afternoon.
Jones says that by the end of the 30-minute stop, John had picked up an eclectic pile of records ranging from Kendrick Lamar to Nina Simone. After all, he just spent $200 at Vancouver's Beat Street Records.
Jones says it's nice to see such a high-profile artist supporting the renaissance of vinyl music.
He says he hopes John will think about stopping by again if he's ever in the area.
John, who agent couldn't be reach for comment, kicks off a world tour this weekend with two back-to-back shows in Victoria.
