Don't Have Patience To Be On Fiction TV: Neha Dhupia

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Mar, 2016 01:41 PM
  • Don't Have Patience To Be On Fiction TV: Neha Dhupia
Actress Neha Dhupia, who stepped into the non-fiction space on TV through "MTV Roadies X4" this year, says she will maintain her distance from the fiction space of Indian television as it requires a lot of commitment and time.

"I don’t think I have the patience to be on fiction TV. It is too much time, too much patience, too much commitment. I don’t have it in me,” Neha told IANS.

Neha has not entered the small screen space with the reality TV show as she was a part of a political drama “Rajdhani” in late 1990s. But the actress says she is not in a position to devote that much time to the fiction space now.

She added: “I don't like things that take me away from being myself. I have done a reality show 'Roadies'. And it has been the most fantastic experience of my life it is more so because I have the liberty to be myself on TV. I get inspired by the Roadies every day . It makes me fearless. I have learned so much from them.”

Neha has replaced actress Esha Deol in "Roadies", which is a format that has become popular over the years, and has achieved a cult status of sorts among youth who are keen on adventure. After multiple auditions in various cities across India, shortlisted candidates compete with one another in tough tasks to take home the winner's title.

The actress said: “Right now in my professional and personal life, if something doesn’t give me some moments everyday where I can throw my head back and just laugh my heart out, I don’t think I want to do it and that is the drive I want.”

Neha, who is best known for her roles in films like “Julie”, “Kyaa Kool Hai Hum”, “Delhii Heights”, “Paying Guests” and “Phas Gaye Re Obama”, has joined hands with beauty brand Kiehl's and Teach For India to educate underprivileged children.

Under the partnership, all the proceedings from the sale of the Ultra Facial Cream will go to the Teach For India - to improve access to quality education in under-resourced schools.

And the actress says she wants to spread happiness and “that is where Kiehl's initiative comes in. We have worked so hard for it and you feel like it is all worth it. It is a really satisfying feeling.”
