Divya Dutta's Fan Moment With Gulzar

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 Mar, 2019 11:48 PM

National award-winning actress Divya Dutta has been a huge fan of Gulzar; and her happiness knew no bounds when she got to know that one of her favourite songs written by Gulzar would be picturised on her.

For her film Music Teacher, co-starring Manav Kaul, the song Phir Wahi Raat Hai’ from the film Ghar has been used.

Says Divya, “In the film, Manav plays a music teacher and the song is a reprised version sung by another singer. But I literally jumped with joy hearing that the song is going to feature me because it was my fantasy to be a part of that song. I loved Ghar and all the songs of the film, but Phir Wahi Raat remains a favourite. Pancham da and Gulzar sahab are great.”

Talking about her connection with Gulzar , she says, “Gulzar sahab has been a very special connection ever since my childhood. I’m sure a lot of us have literally grown up on his lyrics and films.

But for me, if anybody asked me which ones were my favourite films, they mostly happen to be his films… be it Mausam or Aandhi or Chupke Chupke written by him, and his lyrics were like music to my ears always.”

“When I finally got to meet him, I thought he was a little apprehensive about my knowledge about his work, but when we got chatting, we created the most amazing bond that I could ever wish for,” said Dutta.
