Diljit Dosanjh Shares Soorma Teaser, Trailer To Be Out On Monday

  • Diljit Dosanjh Shares Soorma Teaser, Trailer To Be Out On Monday

The first teaser of Diljit Dosanjh’s biopic on hockey legend Sandeep Singh was unveiled Friday afternoon and the makers also announced that the film’s trailer will be launched on Monday, June 11.

Diljit, who plays the titular role of Sandeep in the film, tweeted the teaser and wrote, “Himmat aur lagan se zindagi ko jeetne aa raha hai #Soorma! #SoormaTrailer out on 11th June! Only 3 days to go!”

The movie also features Angad Bedi as Sandeep’s brother and Taapsee Pannu as his love interest. The teaser gives us a glimpse of the struggles that the former hockey team captain must have gone through.

Sandeep Singh is a hockey legend and the ex-captain of the Indian hockey team. Sandeep is regarded as the most impressive drag-flickers of all time with drag speed of over 145 km/hr, which led to his nickname, ‘Flicker Singh’.

Talking about essaying the role of Sandeep Singh, Diljit had earlier said in a press statement, “I feel proud to be part of Soorma, a biopic made on Sandeep Singh. Sandeep has never failed to make India proud, be it on field or off it, he keeps setting the benchmark higher.”

“I knew that he was the captain but didn’t know he was shot on his back. When I started playing hockey, I realised the entire game relies on your back- you have to bend to play it. So the pressure is double. What I didn’t know was, how a man who was shot, stood up, recovered and made a world record,” Diljit added.
