  • Dia supports NGO to make rural 'cool'
Actress and producer Dia Mirza is set to support 'Rural Is Cool' -- an initiative by Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala's Swades Foundation -- to raise funds for the sake of educational and sanitation facilities for residents of the country's rural areas.

Both Zarina and Dia will walk the dream run at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2015 to raise funds. Dia has pledged her support for the cause and has taken the initiative to ask people to come forth and be supportive of this intent.

"The very distinct goals of Swades Foundation and the effort being made to achieve these goals is admirable and inspiring. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be an active participant in achieving these goals, and I hope that we can together draw more people into our mission objective," the former beauty queen said in a statement.

To be held Jan 18, 2015, the Mumbai Marathon is an inspirational annual event where people from varied walks of life come together in unison to celebrate the spirit of Mumbai.

While doing so, there are those who share this spirit while drawing attention towards a noble and pressing cause. Many notable names from varied industries come forth to cheer and participate in the annual marathon while pledging their support to a cause they sincerely believe in.
