Dhoni launches 'M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story' trailer in Delhi

  • Dhoni launches 'M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story' trailer in Delhi
India's star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday launched the trailer of Bollywood biopic "M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story" here at a school full of students who went berserk over his and actor Sushant Singh Rajput's presence.

The trailer was unveiled by Dhoni at Kulachi Hansraj Model School, an institution of DAV, with actor Sushant who essays the cricketer in the movie. The film's director Neeraj Pandey and co-producer of the film Arun Pandey were also a part of the launch.

Both Dhoni and Sushant have a connect with DAV. While the cricketer had studied in a DAV school in Ranchi, Sushant was happy to be at his alma mater here.

Talking about his experience and the way in which his school life had shaped his career, Dhoni said: "I have studied in DAV Ranchi. I have always said that school days were the most important days of my life from the start.

"I feel I need to give lot of credit to the management of the school where along with studies, you could do a lot of things.

"If you are playing some kind of a sport you are not looked down upon. I think that is very important in the school culture."

Dhoni's popularity was evident when the school's children stood up on their chairs holding placards and masks of Dhoni with a kind of madness only a cricket fan would understand.

The film's team members and Dhoni were welcomed by a crowd of around 700 people and they were presented a book on Vedas, a coffee table book of DAV and a bouquet each.

Co-produced by Fox Star studios, "M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story" will release on September 30. It tells the story of Dhoni's struggle and his meteoric rise in the game of cricket.

Sushant has toiled hard to slip into the cricketer's role. He not just trained to get the nuances of a cricketer right, but also played around with his hairstyle to look Dhoni-like.

The movie also stars Anupam Kher, Bhoomika Chawla, Kiara Advani, Herry Tangri and Disha Patani.
