  • Dhadak First Look: Janhvi Has Sridevi's Charm And Ishaan Khatter Is Bollywood's Next Chocolate Boy

Filmmaker Karan Johar on Wednesday confirmed that he has cast veteran actress Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khatter in his upcoming production "Dhadak".

Karan tweeted the first look of the film, an adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film "Sairat".

The poster reveals the movie will release on July 6 next year.

"Presenting...Janhvi and Ishaan. Zee Studios and Dharma Movies proudly present... directed by Shashank Khaitan. 'Dhadak'," Karan captioned the poster.

While "Dhadak" will mark Janhvi's foray into Bollywood, Ishaan is making his acting debut with Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's India-set movie "Beyond The Clouds".

In one of the posters released, the two actors are seen embracing each other. The setting has the sun emitting rays and it captures the silhouette of a desert with a camel cart.

Sridevi is excited about her daughter's debut.

In an interview to IANS, she had said that she is "mentally more prepared than" Janhvi for it.

"She has been watching me, and knows what she is getting into. Nothing is going to be a cakewalk in any profession. So you have to work hard, and there will be challenges. I'm sure she is ready for it," she had said.
