Delhi Poll Results 2015: Bollywood Celebrates Arvind Kejriwal's Win

IANS, 10 Feb, 2015 01:34 PM
  • Delhi Poll Results 2015: Bollywood Celebrates Arvind Kejriwal's Win
The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Bollywood star power was at its jubiliant best Tuesday on Twitter to celebrate the party's landslide victory in the Delhi assembly polls.

"This is what happens when crooked, powerful politicians challenge a common man. Let this be a lesson to all indian politicians," tweeted "Roadies" fame Raghu Ram, who actively campaigned for the AAP.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani, a strong supporter of AAP and composer of "Panch saal Kejriwal", tweeted: "Happy Birthday to @DrKumarVishwas. Don't think you could have got a better gift, bhai! Jai Hind! Boarding my flight for Delhi. Gonna thank every single person that I meet there! What a morning."

Actor Jaaved Jaaferi, who had joined AAP last year, shared his excitement Tuesday, and posted: "VIVA AAP!!! 4 for AAP in LS and now 4 for BJP in Delhi...This is like a Bollywood style vindication."

Post the exit polls Sunday, actress Smita Bansal, best known for her role in popular TV show “Balika Vadhu”, had told IANS that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) deserves to win Delhi elections 2015 because Kejriwal has the “courage” to fight against all the social issues in the society.

She had decided to promote AAP because “Arvind Kejriwal has the capability to deliver".

"AAP is people friendly. AAP is the change which India needs today. People are hoping that the party will take some big actions on issues like women security and corruption. People needed one party which thinks like the common man and AAP does the same," she had said.

The party faced a big backlash in the Lok Sabha elections last year. But it has risen from the ashes like a phoenix this time.

Several Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to celebrate the win of Kejriwal's AAP.

Neha Dhupia: Congratulations @ArvindKejriwal and @AamAadmiParty for this historic win! Now Pls don't let the voters down! Make #Delhi a better place.

Pritish Nandy: AAP wins one of the biggest electoral victories in Indian history. BJP's hubris defeated. Kiran Bedi trailing.

Shekhar Kapur: It's time to accept the young Indian voter is far more sophisticated Individual who thinks clearly about local n national issues #KiskiDilli.

Kamaal R Khan: It's historical n biggest ever win of any party since independence n it's proof of popularity of @ArvindKejriwal n #AAP #DelhiElections

Chetan Bhagat: In past, I didn't like some of AAP's actions,I made some unsavory comments in jest. Sorry. Clean slate now. Will be happiest if they perform.

Siddharth: Delhi continues to be the National capital region of high drama. What a day for #Kejri ... Never take anything for granted in politics!

Sandhya Mridul: AAP aaye bahaar aayi.
