Dangal: Fatima Shaikh And Sanya Malhotra Were Chosen After Audition Of 10,000 Girls

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 Nov, 2016 11:57 AM
Having to play the role of an international wrestler, Fatima and Sanya went through a grueling training of two years. They were trained by National wrestling coach Kripa Shankar.

Their moves had to look authentic and they were made to follow the same regimes as the real Geeta and Babita Phogat in order to look like professional wrestlers. They also suffered a few injuries during the training process, but their dedication never let them give up.

They have also been interning with Aamir and learning film making as well.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is based on the life of Haryana-based wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and the journey of his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat.

Aamir Khan has revealed that he will sport a lean look as well as grow his hair and keep a beard for his upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan. “I am planning to cut down on my body fat… I don’t want to be muscular. In ‘Thugs..’ my look is not muscular it’s not a wrestler’s physique. It will be a lean look,” Aamir told reporters here at an event of Dangal.

At the promotional event of Dangal, Aamir was seen in bearded look and had covered his hair with a scarf. “This look is for Thugs of Hindostan with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan)… this is not the final look. I am growing beard and hair. I don’t know what will be the final look, we will get to know about it in two months.”
