B-Town Stars Share All About Their ‘Saala Khadoos’

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Jan, 2016 01:15 PM
What Vidhu Vinod Chopra is to Rajkumar Hirani, Kamal Haasan is to R. Madhavan -- 'saala khadoos’!

‘Saala khadoos’ is a term often used to describe a mentor who identifies a person’s hidden potential and pushes them to excel. Ahead of the release of a new Bollywood film titled “Saala Khadoos”, a string of Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to share who is that one special person for them.

Hirani, who has produced the movie, was the first to post an image with Chopra, and tweeted: “Here is #MeraSaalaKhadoos who inspired and pushed me to the limits.”

He then tagged other actors on social media asking for their life's “Saala Khadoos”.

Madhavan took the campaign further by posting an image of himself with Kamal, and wrote: "Here is #MeraSaalaKhadoos who pushes me to give my best? Who is yours?"

Taking the activity forward, superstar Hrithik Roshan named his father Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik said: "@ActorMadhavan my #MeraSaalaKhadoos is this young director producer guy with light eyes and bald. Done four movies with him. He's pretty fantastic."

Livewire star Ranveer Singh said his “Bajirao Mastani” director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is his ‘saala khadoos’. Ranveer shared: "@RajkumarHirani Sir Ye Dekho! #MeraSaalaKhadoos! #SanjayLeelaBhansali pushes me to excel and brings out the best in me."

Actress Anushka Sharma wrote: "@RajkumarHirani Karnesh Sharma who pushed me (still does) beyond what I had ever imagined I could achieve."

There was also Hirani’s “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.” actor Boman Irani, who named Hirani himself as his life's ‘saala khadoos’.

"Hi @RajkumarHirani Here's #MeraSaalaKhadoos. He pushes me with too much love (off set only) On set he is Chengiz Khan."

“Saala Khadoos”, the film, revolves around Madhavan’s character, who is relentlessly pushing his protege Ritika to overcome obstacles and achieve her boxing goals.

Hirani has cast a real life boxer Ritika Singh in the lead role for the movie, which is directed by Sudha Kongara.
