B-Town Mourns Death Of Veteran Actress Sulabha Deshpande

    Members of Hindi film fraternity like Lata Mangeshkar, Rishi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Anil Kapoor took to Twitter to mourn the demise of veteran theatre and film actor Sulabha Deshpande, who passed away on Saturday following a prolonged illness.
     
    The last rites of Sulabha, who died at her home here, will take place on Sunday afternoon. 
     
    The actress, who was 80, is known for films including "Bhumika", "Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan", "English Vinglish" as well as many TV serials and plays.
     
    Over the years, Sulabha acted in scores of movies, mainly in lovable mother or grandmother roles in both Hindi and Marathi films, besides key roles in several TV serials and Marathi theatre, her first love and earned critical acclaim as well as audience approval.
     
    Here is what the stars tweeted to express their grief:
     
    Lata Mangeshkar: Today my favourite actress died. She had worked in my film 'Jait Re Jait'. Sulabha was a very talented actress. Her demise is a major loss to our film industry. It saddens me...May her soul rest in peace."
     
    Rishi Kapoor: RIP. Sulabha Deshpande. Worked with both her and her late husband Arvind Deshpande in the film "Duniya".
     
    Madhuri Dixit Nene: Sad to know about the demise of Sulabha Deshpandeji. What a lovely, warm person and wonderful actress!
     
    Richa Chadha: Day of colossal losses. RIP Muhammad Ali, Sasha Shulgin and Sulabha Deshpande.
