He may have touched the last of his 50s on Thursday, but actor Anil Kapoor is the "youngest veteran" of Bollywood, say his friends and colleagues from the Hindi film industry.
 
His celebrity friends have described him as a great and a thorough gentleman.
 
Celebrities like Karan Johar, Anupam Kher and Farah Khan among many took to Twitter to wish the veteran actor a year full of love, happiness and good luck.
 
Anil, whose career spanned over two decades, made his debut with the film Umesh Mehra's 1979 "Hamare Tumhare" in a small role.
 
The actor gained recognition with films like "Tezaab", "Beta", "Woh Saat Din" "Meri Jung", "Janbaaz" "Karma" and "Mr. India".
 
Anil made his international debut in Danny Boyle's Academy Award-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire" and was also a part of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise-starrer " Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol".
 
He was last seen on screen in Anees Bazmee's "Welcome Back".

HAPPY B-DAY 'FIRST FRIEND IN MUMBAI': SRK TO ANIL KAPOOR
 
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen on screen in filmmaker Rohit Shetty's latest release "Dilwale", says actor Anil Kapoor was his "first friend" here and "will always be there" for him.
 
SRK also wished the "Dil Dhadakne Do" star, who turned 59 on Thursday and added that the actor will always be 42-years-old for him.
 
 
"Happy Birthday to @AnilKapoor, my first friend in Mumbai and I know will always be there till the last. You will always be '42’ for me. Love you.” SRK tweeted.
 
Shah Rukh and Anil have worked together in the 1995 film “Trimurti”, which was directed by Mukul Anand.
 
The film also starred Jackie Shroff, Priya Tendulkar, Mohan Agashe, Saeed Jaffrey and Tinnu Anand among others. 
 
On the silver screen, Anil was last seen in Anees Bazmee's “Welcome Back”.
 
 

 

SRK will next be seen in Maneesh Sharma's directorial “Fan”, which is slated to hit the screens on April 15, 2016.
