Bollywood Would Be An Interesting Challenge: 'Big Hero 6' Animator Zach Parrish

Darpan News Desk IANS, 19 Aug, 2015 12:58 PM
He brought a giant yet compassionate robot alive on the big screen with “Big Hero 6” with animation.

Zach Parrish, head animation supervisor of the Oscar-winning movie, says while he loves the “broad spectacle” of Hindi films, working on a Bollywood animated film will be a challenge.

“I know a little bit about Indian films, mainly Bollywood. I love them because of their music, theatrics and the broad spectacle.

“I have never really thought about working on a Bollywood animated movie, but that would be an interesting challenge,” Parrish told IANS in an interview after a signing session at D23 Expo 2015 in Anaheim here.

Parrish has also worked on movies like “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph”, and feels the world of animation-based entertainment is poised for growth globally.

“It is exciting time for animation industry because so many people are trying to make animated films and there are so many people successfully making animated films.

“And that is pushing the style and the scope of films as the bar keeps getting raised which challenges us as an artist to get bigger and better,” he said.

At the D23 Expo, which was held at Anaheim Convention Center, Parrish was approached by "Big Hero 6" fans to sign a toy version of the film's robot Baymax.
