Bigg Boss 10 Winner Manveer Gurjar: My Win Was Impossible, Felt Bani Would Emerge Victorious

IANS, 30 Jan, 2017 01:06 PM
Manveer Gurjar has emerged the Bigg Boss 10 winner but he himself says his win was 'impossible'. He also feels his friend in Bigg Boss house, Manu Punjabi, should not have quit after taking Rs 10 lakh.

After Salman Khan announced him the winner of tenth season of Bigg Boss, Manveer had tears in his eyes, he calls his win ‘impossible’.

He said he was afraid of Bani J’s mammoth fan following and while he was sure he would be one of the finalists, never thought he would make it to the winner’s podium of Bigg Boss 10.

The self-confessed ‘desi banda’ said he did not play with his head, he played with his heart. Talking of his heart, there was a lot of talk about his friendship with Nitibha Kaul, will he meet her now that he is out of the Bigg Boss house?

“Nitibha is my friend and I like her as a friend… let’s see how things go once we meet.” Here’s more that he farmer from a small village in Haryana said about keeping things real and what took him till the finishing line ahead of Bani, Lopa and his good friend Manu.

Manveer says he was sure about his own place in the finals but felt it would be impossible to beat Bani for he saw her getting saved week after week despite not being as good as other contestants.

“After covering half the journey, I started expecting to win but pulling a victory over Bani is a surprise. I never imagined that I would be able to get more votes than her. I was sure Bani would win.

Despite her failure at doing things which others could do easily in the show, she kept getting votes so, then I thought she must be having something in her that we didn’t see. At that point I felt, it will be impossible to defeat her,” Manveer said.

WANT TO ACT OPPOSITE SHRADDHA KAPOOR

After a gruelling stay of over 100 days in a locked up house here, Manveer Gurjar, who entered "Bigg Boss 10" as part of the 'aam aadmi' contingent, has heaved a sigh of relief on being named the winner. He is now eyeing a career in TV shows and films, and has his focus right -- a Bollywood debut with actress Shraddha Kapoor.

Asked about his future plans, Manveer told IANS here: "I am overwhelmed with the love and support that I have got from the people of our country. Therefore, I am yet to make my plan. Having said that, I want to act in Hindi films and would like to act opposite Shraddha Kapoor for my debut film."

"Bigg Boss 10" started as a battle between celebrity contestants and commoners. The show came to an end on Sunday night, with VJ Bani Judge as the first runner-up and former beauty queen Lopamudra Raut securing the third spot.

"My journey inside the house was not at all easy and within three weeks I felt like giving up. But Manu (Punjabi) and I bonded over many things very well. We supported each other and that made the journey easy for both of us. Our bonding, undoubtedly, was a strength for me."

"I even told Salman (Khan) sir that his (Manu's) support was a contribution to my survival," Manveer added.

A Noida boy, Manveer feels since his newfound celebrity status is a by-product of his stint on television, he wants to continue his association with the small screen -- be it by the way of anchoring shows or even daily soaps.

Manveer also said he has come out as a more mature person after dealing with "difficult" people like Swami Omji Maharaj, a spiritual leader who created a lot of ruckus inside the "Bigg Boss" house and fought with all the participants.

"I think now I can handle any difficult situation and deal with anyone," he said.
