Bentley Crash: Delhi Court Grants Bail To Ponty Chadha's Nephew Asees Singh Chadha

    The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted bail to Asees Singh Chadha, nephew of late Ponty Chandha, who allegedly killed a 51-year-old woman from Turkmenistan in a road accident, on Thursday. Asees is the only son of Wave Group chairman.


    The accused managed to evade judicial custody and got himself admitted at a hospital after complaining of ‘chest pain’. He was admitted to RML Hospital after he complained of congestion in the chest. He was referred to the hospital by jail authorities, said a police officer.


    On Wednesday, Metropolitan Magistrate at Patiala House court dismissed his bail plea. His lawyers applied for bail in session court.


    Asees has been asked by Additional Sessions Judge to furnish a personal bond of ₹2 lakh and two surety of the like amount.


    Police said that he was arrested and produced before a magistrate after the accident and was sent to a one-day police custody. On Tuesday, he was sent to judicial custody, but he complained of chest pain and was referred to RML hospital for treatment by jail authorities.


    Asees was arrested and charged with rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder after he allegedly killed Alajanowa Gulsat, a tourist from Turkmenistan, by ramming his luxury car into an autorickshaw in which she was travelling in along with two of her relatives.


    “The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital ,” said the police.
