Believe In Creating Social Impact With Films: Dia Mirza

IANS, 05 Aug, 2016 12:19 PM
Actress Dia Mirza, who recently went behind the cameras to direct a public service film on tiger conservation called "Kids For Tigers", says she believes in making films to create positive social impact.

"I believe in making films to create positive social impact. The power of the audio-visual format is that it can bear a healthy influence over peoples choices," Dia Mirza told IANS in an email interaction.

“This is one of the reasons why I chose to become a producer and to direct the # film.”

"These kids understand what most grown-ups fail to even acknowledge as a reality. I was compelled to tell their story through them and for them,” she added.

"Kids For Tiger" aims to spread the important message of tiger and nature conservation through the innocent voices of children belonging to different age groups.

Dia says that it was “absolutely delightful” shooting with the kids.

“I reached out to kids who I knew loved nature and asked if they would like to be the voice of the Tiger. Every single kid in the film is one who wanted to be a part of the film. None of them have faced the camera before! And despite that each of them has added such a unique quality to the script,” she said.

The feature film has been written by Cara Tejpal and Sahil Sangha and has been captured by ace photographer Rohan Shrestha and produced by Born Free Entertainment.
