Beautiful, Outstanding: Bollywood Stars Praises 'Masaan'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 22 Jul, 2015 12:55 PM
Tinsel town celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Rajkumar Rao among others have lauded Neeraj Ghaywan's directorial "Masaan" and have called it a beautiful, great and an outstanding film.

"Masaan", which won two prestigious awards at the Cannes International Film Festival in May, will hit the Indian screens only on Friday.

Produced by Drishyam Films, Phantom Films, Macassar Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, "Masaan" stars Sanjay Mishra and Richa Chadha in the lead along with newcomers Shweta Tripathi and Vicky Kaushal. A special screening of the film was organised in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The film's story revolves around four lives which intersect along the Ganga river: a low-caste boy falling hopelessly in love, a daughter ridden with guilt of a sexual encounter ending in a tragedy, a hapless father with fading morality, and a spirited child yearning for a family, long to escape the moral constructs of a small town.
