Actor Ranveer Singh, who launched his first solo poster from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" here on Wednesday, said acting in the period film was tough and it has had a personal and professional impact on him.
"It was a very physically demanding film, so I worked hard for that ! Even acting was very tough for this film... I am really happy that I got this character," Ranveer, who plays the 18th century Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I, said here.
"'Bajirao Mastani' changed me a lot personally and professionally. It made me a stronger and wiser person," he added.
Asked if there's any similarities between his real life and his reel life in "Bajirao Mastani", he said: "Bajirao ki life mein bahut drama hai (There's a lot of drama in Bajirao's life)."
The movie also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, and is slated to release on December 18 -- the same date as Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's much-awaited romantic entertainer "Dilwale".
"I'm nervous about my film. Bhansali sir had been wanting to make this film since 12 to 15 years."
The "Band Baaja Baaraat" actor believes that people like period dramas, and "so I think they will love this movie".
He also said that while he knows that Salman Khan was to feature in the role that he has finally done, he feels that he will live up to his expectations.
