Badlapur 2: Deepika Padukone Steps Into The Shoes Of Varun Dhawan?

  • Badlapur 2: Deepika Padukone Steps Into The Shoes Of Varun Dhawan?
If the latest buzz is anything to go by, then Deepika is all set to step into the shoes of Varun Dhawan in ‘Badlapur 2’.

Varun had essayed the main protagonist in the Shriram Raghavan film and going by the latest DNA report, it looks likely that Deepika may replace him in the next instalment of the franchise.

Deepika has been a part of many of Vijan’s previous productions. And it would be no surprise if she is cast in this film too!

“A sequel to Badlapur, with a female protagonist and a completely new cast, is being planned. Dinesh has bounced the idea off to Deepika and she has loved it. It’s a character-driven role, just like Varun’s was in Badlapur. The script isn’t ready yet and once that’s done, the producer will give the actress a full narration and get her dates blocked for the film,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

Deepika is presently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, a film inspired by Rani Padmavati of Chittor. The film slated to release on November 17 this year also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles.
