A.R. Rahman launches trailer of 'Pele: Birth of a Legend'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 09 May, 2016 12:01 PM
  • A.R. Rahman launches trailer of 'Pele: Birth of a Legend'
Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman on Monday launched the trailer of "Pele: Birth of a Legend", which is an upcoming American biographical film about the Brazilian football legend Pele.

"I can see lot of parallels in Pele because when my father was about to make it independently (as a composer), he died. Similarly, if you watch the film, his (Pele's) father was also an aspiring soccer player but he could never make it to that level.

"And his seed of aspiration which he sowed, and his blessings... I would say somehow made Pele a huge superstar. So, it's a story very similar to mine"," Rahman said at the trailer launch when he was asked to share his success mantra.

"So it's a lesson for every aspiring father who never made it, the kids will make it. Be firm and believe in almighty. Encourage your kids and give them all your blessings," he added.

With music by Rahman, the film is directed and written by Jeff Zimbalist and Michael Zimbalist.
