Anushka-Diljit chemistry weaves magic in Dum Dum

Darpan News Desk, 16 Feb, 2017 10:53 AM
  • Anushka-Diljit chemistry weaves magic in Dum Dum
The first look of Phillauri, from its super popular, much loved trailer has charmed everyone. The friendly ghost played by Anushka Sharma and the lilting musical strains from the film have gotten listeners and audiences hooked.

Now, the first song from the film, Dum Dum, is set to work its gentle, romantic charm on everyone. The song’s video, steeped in the rustic, bronze-toned beauty of rural Punjab, reasserts the fabulous chemistry that Anushka and Diljit share with each other.  For this onscreen pair, unusual does it!

The song is beautiful, and bound to hit home with listeners. It’s a lovely soulful Sufi number, close to genuine sounds from this form of music. Keeping to its promise of working with real talent, irrespective of them being new or fresh, Dum Dum, by first time composer Shashwat Sachdev and first time playback singer, Romy, works gentle magic. The Hindi lyrics of the song have been written by Anvita Dutt.

Commenting on this song, the Producers Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films said, “Dum Dum looks rustic but is very soothing and beautiful in both its sound and visual presentation. In Phillauri, we have focused on working with really talented, young folks who have an innovative take on storytelling. We are proud of its music, composed by debut composer Shashwat Sachdev, and hope audiences will like the sound.”
