Anushka & Virat merge their non-profit initiatives to help those in need

Mumbai, March 23 (IANS) Star couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have decided to merge their respective foundations - Anushka Sharma Foundation and Virat Kohli Foundation - to launch a joint non-profit initiative aimed at helping those in need.
Anushka and Virat said in a joint statement: "In the words of Kahlil Gibran, 'For in truth it is life that gives unto life - while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness'. With this sentiment in mind, we have decided to work together through SeVVA aiming to reach out to as many people as possible."
"SeVVA's work won't be confined to a particular issue as it will continue to strive for social good by championing humanity which is the need of the hour today."
Meanwhile, Virat will continue to provide scholarships in sports and also sponsor athletes, and Anushka will continue to be involved with animal welfare as she has over the years.
Also, the two of them, through SeVVA, will be on the lookout to aid areas of concern that benefits society at large.
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, who is set to share the screen with actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film 'Chamkila', couldn't resist gushing over her "fav humans" and "fellow mediators," expressing her gratitude towards Diljit for teaching her so much.
Padukone, a presenter at the event, chose a glamorous bespoke Louis Vuitton gown which she paired with a Cartier necklace. The actress received mixed reviews for her fashion choice, as some deemed the dress boring and predictable while others felt it was glamorous.
The documentary was received by the director Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga. Kartiki talked about the film and said it is for coexistence and thanked the Academy Awards for recognising their work.
As for what to expect at the event, Chopra said the night is all about the nominees, all of whom are nominated in some capacity for an Academy Award. Nominated films at this year's ceremony include RRR, Turning Red, All That Breathes, The Elephant Whisperers and Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Actor-Director Kaushik passed away due to a heart attack in Gurugram late on Wednesday. He was 66. Among his many memorable roles, Kaushik is fondly remembered for playing the role of 'Calendar' in the 1987 film 'Mr. India' directed by Shekhar Kapur, in which Anil Kapoor played the titular character.
