Anurag Kashyap 'proud' of 'Meeruthiya Gangsters'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Aug, 2015 01:23 PM
"Gangs Of Wasseypur" director Anurag Kashyap, who is also the co-presenter and co-editor of Zeishan Quadri's directorial debut "Meeruthiya Gangsters", feels extremely proud about the film.

"There is one film I'm pleasantly surprised and proud of. I never knew that Zeishan Quadri would work in one film and become just a big name. It feels very good to see Neeraj Ghaywan and Zeishan Quadri not just make films, but make good films," Kashyap said.

Talking about the film's trailer, Kashyap said that it highlights the origin of the "strange characters" of "Gangs of Wasseypur".

"If you see the film, from the trailer itself you'll understand the origin of where the strange characters of 'Gangs of Wasseypur' came from. It was a part of Zeishan's growing up years. Throughout his life, he experienced exciting stories, real life stories and stories which no one else ever touched.

"And similarly this time he has taken these characters and made the film, 'Meeruthiya Gangsters'. The quirky characters will definitely make you laugh but also make you scared. It's a very good thriller and it will go places and all fans of 'Gangs of Wasseypur' are especially going to love the film," he said.

Zeishan had also acted in "Gangs Of Wasseypur" portraying the character of "Definite".

“Meeruthiya Gangsters”, produced by Prateek Entertainment, also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Nushrat Bharucha among others. It releases on Sept 18.
