Amy Jackson To Sing In Punjabi, Reveals Manj Musik

Darpan News Desk IANS, 29 Aug, 2016 01:18 PM
Actress Amy Jackson will be heard singing a song titled "Lak hilaade" in Punjabi, says composer-singer Manjeet Ral, popularly known as Manj Musik.

The 24-year-old actress was earlier rumoured to be rapping a number for the former pop band RDB member, but Manj shared that he really wanted Amy to sing.

"Amy is not rapping but she is actually singing. She wanted to rap but I thought she would do better justice to singing. It's her first time in singing and that too in Punjabi, but she learnt it all in a span of one month.

"The song is called 'Lak hilaade' which means move your waist and bring out the dancer in you," Manj told IANS over an e-mail interaction from Canada.

The 31-year-old had earlier composed two songs -- "Singh and Kaur" and "Maahi aaja" for the film "Singh is Bliing", which featured Amy and superstar Akshay Kumar.

The "Desi Hip Hop" hitmaker says this is the first time he is collaborating with an actress on a music video.

"At first I was really hesitant because I had heard Amy on the sets of 'Singh Is Bliing' and her voice was very raw but then we spent some time in the studio and it all worked out well," he added.
