Akshay Kumar's Kesari Trailer Goes Instantly Viral. 'Outstanding Is An Understatement,' Say Celebs

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Feb, 2019 10:49 PM

“The bravest battle ever fought,” actor Akshay Kumar had earlier described the film’s subject.

The film ‘Kesari’—which is based on the Battle of Saragarhi where 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897—starring Akshay has released its trailer on social media.

Parineeti Chopra is the leading lady of the film.

Akshay will play the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havildar Ishar Singh

The 3 minutes trailer was released on Thursday.

Akshay shared the news on Twitter.

    He tweeted: “An incredible true story of valour, sacrifice & bravery - told like never before! #KesariTrailer out now - http://bit.ly/Kesari-Trailer @ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_ #Kesari”.

‘Kesari’ is produced by filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

    Karan tweeted: “Watch the trailer! A true story of valour, sacrifice & bravery! #21sikhsvs10000 #KesariTrailer out now - http://bit.ly/Kesari-Trailer @akshaykumar @ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_”.

The trailer gave twitter goosebumps; the Sikhs chose to fight till death and defended the post at Saragarhi. The battle is considered to be one of the greatest battles ever fought in history.

Makers had released the teaser of the film earlier this month.

In the teaser, Afghani soldiers are going to fight Sikh warriors who are ready to face one of the toughest stand-alone battles the world has ever seen.

Akshay had shared the news of the trailer release on Wednesday.

He wrote: “The untold story of the bravest battle ever fought begins to unravel TOMORROW! #KesariTrailerTomorrow #Kesari@ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_”.

Earlier, the film was on hold as the actor had confirmed that it would take around three to four years to complete 'Sons of Sardar: Battle of Saragarhi', because of the scale at which the production house is trying to make the film, saying "another level all together".

‘Kesari' is directed by popular Punjabi director Anurag Singh.

The film is scheduled to release on March 21.

Akshay will also be seen in ‘Good News’, ‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Housefull 4’.
