Akshay Kumar Donates Rs. 1 Crore For Chennai Flood Relief

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has extended a helping hand to the rain ravaged people of the city by donating Rs.1 crore for relief work.
 
"After seeing the shocking visuals of rain affected Chennai, Akshay wanted to help the people and in this regard he called director Priyadarshan, who in turn directed him to contact Suhasini Mani Ratnam," read a statement.
 
 
Following Suhasini's suggestion, he donated Rs.1 crore to Bhoomika Trust, who have been preparing and distributing food items since the day of the disaster.
 
Filmmaker Jayendra, managing trustee of Bhoomika Trust, received the cheque from Akshay.
 
Not long ago, Shah Rukh Khan and the team of "Dilwale" donated Rs.1 crore towards the relief work.
