Akshay auctions 'Entertainment' clothes for strays

Darpan News Desk IANS, 04 Aug, 2014 07:51 AM
  • Akshay auctions 'Entertainment' clothes for strays
Actors Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia have donated all the clothes from their film "Entertainment" to Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA).

The organisation works for the welfare of street animals and Akshay also bought an item here.

"You see so many stray dogs everywhere and this organisation is for them, where they (the dogs) will be taken care of. People even throw out dogs after keeping them as pets for some time. YODA is a place where they will be given shelter," the 46-year-old said here Saturday at the charity event.

"It is a small initiative where we have put out all clothes from our film. I have also bought one item," he added.

His co-star Tamannaah is very impressed with the auction and has decided to auction off all her clothes from her future films.

"People always ask me what happens to the clothes you wear in a film. Nobody knows what happens with them. But I feel like YODA is a great initiative and the money collected can be spent on animals who really need that money and care. So I am going to do this in every film of mine, even my southern films," Tamannaah said.

"Entertainment", releasing Aug 8, also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood and Krushna Abhishek.
